In June 2012 Nanosonics attended APIC’ conference, held over three days and with record attendance. Included among the delegates were 245 international visitors representing 32 countries, and of course many infection preventionists. The conference was the ideal opportunity to build on Nanosonics’ word-of-mouth referrals, with many customers bringing their colleagues to see the Trophon EPR in action. It also allowed the Nanosonics team to meet many specialists who provided valuable insights and new perspectives on infection prevention, including in the area of probe disinfection.

Trophon EPR was very well received and it was clear the value of this product resonates with the decision makers working to better manage infection control in their facilities. In a market that contains many overlapping products,Trophon stood out as a truly innovative, customer-focused Product.

The infection control market is valued at around US$10 billion with 12 percent growth, and at conferences like APIC there is a definite excitement about growth prospects and the importance infection control is playing in modern healthcare. With this supportive environment, we expect the value and opportunities provided by our work to increase significantly in the years to come.

The 2011 Trade Show hosted by the RSNA in Chicago in late November saw more than 80,000 attendees and the Trophon® EPR (Environmental Probe Reprocessor) was one of the highlights at the vast GE Healthcare exhibition stand. The response from customers (including government), the GEHC sales force and overseas visitors was one of universal acclaim for the unique clean, green benefits of the Trophon® EPR system. Interest in and demand for the Trophon® EPR system surpassed all expectations.
